About Us

Our research explores questions related to rejection sensitivity in  the context of interpersonal relationships and identity-based characteristics such as race and gender. We adopt an explorative approach to study people’s expectations of rejection, and how these expectations impact their perceptions of other people’s behavior, in anticipation of and following social encounters. Studying various group categorizations such as race, gender, age has also inspired the study of unique personal characteristics such as whether or not an individual possess a criminal record. Our lab employs several techniques such as social cognition paradigms, experimental studies, physiological recordings, brain-imaging and diary studies to penetrate, and investigate the effects of rejection sensitivity on other people’s behavior.
